Welcome to A Softer Element.

I've been thinking awhile about rebranding and creating a shop/blog/portfolio and that is what this is!

My name is Leanna. I am 24, married, mother to 3 cats, love the outdoors and I love art.

I am a Graphic Designer for a small business, and I run an Etsy store on the side. My husband and I live in a cozy home in North Alabama.

Why a blog?

I wanted to make a blog for many reasons. A sense of accountability, documentation, also I thought it was neat. I am not an avid blog reader, but I have noticed I find myself on blogs constantly, reading the solutions they have for how to build a board game table or when I need to be watering my succulents. I would love to be that for someone, or if people just enjoy hearing about my goofy life and my 99 hobbies, that would be good too.

Why now?

Right now COVID-19 is hitting us hard. I have been out of work for my second week and while I have plenty to do, I'm struggling to find something meaningful. I thought, if I can at least use this time to start the blog I've been thinking about for months, it will be worthwhile. Which leads me to my next topic....

As I said above, I have been unemployed due to the COVID-19 virus. I have started an Etsy store to try and help boost my income. Currently, I have several nature themed coloring pages for kids, to help them identify the bugs and plants outside their homes in Alabama. I'm trying to add things consistently, so check back when you can!
