Today I'm sharing a cucumber mask I made recently! I found it on Pinterest on a not so easy-to-manage website (at least on mobile), but here is the original link:

I recently got some cucumber from my parents garden (while waiting for them to grow in my own!), and I wanted to put them to good use. When searching for a mask recipe, I was looking for something to reduce redness and pore size (which I struggle with) but ended up having to settle for something I have all the ingredients for on hand. If you want to make a mask not on a whim, you can buy most of the ingredients at a local grocery or dollar store.

I chose this recipe because it only had 2 ingredients: coconut oil and cucumber. I already knew both are good for your face and skin, and I struggle with dryness, so I figured it would be perfect.

Easy Cucumber Face Mask

You will need:

1 med. cucumber

1 teaspoon coconut oil

First, grate half of a med size cucumber into a bowl.

With the other half of the cucumber, cut two 1/8" slices for your eyes and place them in the freezer to get nice and cold.

Coconut oil is solid below 78 degrees, so to fully incorporate it, it is best to microwave it, so it all melts down.

(If you don't have these Pioneer Woman dip bowls from Walmart, I super recommend them! We use them every week.)

Once it melted, I gave it a few minutes to cool off and stirred it into my cucumber mush. The coconut oil will harden again, so any white flakes or residue in your mix is just the oil.

I used my facemask while in the bath, and the sensation of warm water on my body with cool cucumber on my face could not be beat! I felt extremely luxurious in my own home. I definitely recommend using this mask in the bath or laying down, as it doesn't stick to your face very well like most store bought masks. I left this mask on for 15 minutes and then threw away the "mush" and rubbed in any remaining cucumber water and oil.

My face felt and smelled wonderful the rest of the night! To be honest, I didn't see much change in my skin tone or pores, but the smell and cool feeling of this mask is enough for me to make it again!

I hope you try this easy face mask!

Thanks for reading!
